Recently whilst cleaning out the cupboards in RHQ we came across this intriguing little item which appears to be a small neck chain pendant or bracelet trinket. Unfortunately and regardless of extensive enquiries we cannot provide a provenance for this item other than we believe it was designed for the Green Jacket Club, possibly prior to 1958 - hence the entwined G and J. Although there is no hall mark a simple magnet test indicates that it is possibly at least silver plated. Each identical pendant has been stamped with an individual number on the reverse, again we have no idea what this means.
Either way this is an intriguing and interesting piece of regimental history and a nice little collectable to have to boot. As indicated above it can either be worn on a chain, attached to a trinket bracelet or pinned to a lapel or dress. Size is approximately 1.8cm x 1.2cm (see comparison photograph beside 1p and 5p coin). Price includes P&P (UK & BFPO Only) and VAT.
