Rifles Rank Slides. It has been decreed by the Rifles Regimental Council that with immediate effect Rank Slides both olive and desert will no longer be manufactured with the Rifles embroidered badge on them (Bugle). The reason quite simply is that for some ranks and some Rifles associated units the slide becomes too cluttered. There is a two year 'Waste Out' ruling on this change (complete by May 2011) which means that between now and then, as all current stocks carrying the badge are exhausted they will be replaced with slides minus the badge. In the meantime and until the 'Waste Out' period is complete both types of rank slides are perfectly acceptable. Authority Annex B to LF/CRF/DO/1/5/9 dated 10Jun 09
