The Rifles Chronicle. This type of hardback book will be familiar to some and completely unknown to others. So what is it? The Chronicle is a more formal record of the regimental story and has been used for many decades as such, indeed regimental chronicles are still essential tools of all research archivists. As the Colonel Commandant of the Rifles says in his opening review "The Chronicle has three important objectives; to record the Regiment today, to review how it performed over the past year, and to identify what is important to it in the future".
Even if you have never served in the Rifles or any of its former or antecedent regiments this is without doubt a 'great' read that will give you an insight into the life of a modern infantry regiment.
